Full Cup

Full day to me means it was a productive day.  Everyday is full lately. Between school, goats, cheese, scheduling, outdoor adventures, apartment situating, and dog adoption-we are constantly on the move.  Today was a classic mix of all of the above.

Since class starts again tomorrow, I had a few things to get in order beforehand.

We attempted breeding Paula again.  She was quite nervous in the car and almost catapulted feces on me in the front seat.  Sarah commented that "at least goat poop is tidy."  Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on who is reading) I snapped a photo of Stacia and Paula cuddling in the Prius before she turned around on me.  Alas, the new buck was not interested in breeding with Paula either.  My previous hypothesis of having a negative impact on goat intimacy stands true today.

All morning, we were in and out of the cheesery learning how to make tomme.  There seems to be waiting at every step of cheese making, which creates an often false sense of free time to get something else done.  In the end, you just have multiple people running around forgetting items and making multiple trips to do the same thing.

We are STILL actively trying to eradicate the smoke odor from our new couch.  Cushions covers washed, cushions hand washed and SLOWLY drying, and multiple cycles of baking soda and vinegar on that darn couch.  My conclusion-don't get a couch that has smoke issues.  Keep life easy on yourself.  The process has taken up our entire apartment.

Finally, we visited our potential dog again today after learning he was finally available.  Application pending approval of our meet and greet sometime soon hopefully.  Name suggestions welcomed.  I am ecstatic about this new addition.  It has been a long time coming!!!!

To end the evening, Stacia took my milking shift so I could work.  I will pay her back a shift next week, but paid my interest up front with some homemade peanut butter oatmeal cookies tonight.

Off to noho tomorrow for another whirlwind in a completely different world.

Cheers,
Kenz

Paula and Stacia

Advanced interest for a lovely gal.
