Rollercoaster of Anticipation

I'm not sure what it is about this potential new addition (dog), but we are fighting for him like he was stolen away from us.  The little guy has won us over and over again.  We found out that he escaped an abusive family that wasn't allowed to take him back.  While this should arouse some caution, we have heard and seen nothing but sweet things from this resilient pup.  We want to show him what a loving home looks like.  The verdict is still unknown.  We find out tomorrow if we will have the opportunity.  Another delay.  Thank goodness I have have Stacia to keep me grounded because this rollercoaster of anticipation is hard on the heart.

In our effort to keep our mind off Valentine (the dog-we are now considering the name Chance instead), we worked on a variety of other projects we both have.  Additionally, we went for a snowy walk across the lake and chilled out on the snow covered patio furniture.  We tried to talk about the goats, but it always came back to the dog. We practiced giving commands and hand signals to each other...you know, just to be ready.

Tonight, I had the milking shift.  Easy peasy.  I guess everybody is getting used to each other.  I told the goats about Valentine-how he looked somewhat like them, that he was very playful, and that it would be fun to see them meet.  I think they are excited for the opportunity too.  So much of the day was devoted to the dog and he isn't even here.  Might not ever be.  We can only wait and see what tomorrow brings.

Wish us luck,
Kenz
