Today (really yesterday, but lets pretend) was quite busy. In summary, I worked in the cheesery in the morning, headed to Noho for some meetings/errands, got a hair cut from 'Scissored by Michaela' (check her out!), and finally met Stacia in Keene for dinner. Uff da!
Stacia apparently got in the cheesery after I left to do actual cheese-making. I just got the place prepared for her good times by washing dishes and cutting draining cloth (no, not cheese cloth). She seems to have had all the best adventures this week. I catch myself jealous of her growing relationship with the goats when I'm not around. As such, I'm planning on taking my book down to the barn today...to, you know, read in the goat pen.
My interaction with this new lifestyle is kind of like a new relationship. I am still in the 'honeymoon' stage. People walk by the window while I am transcribing and I am eager to know what is going on in the cheesery, the milk room, with the goats. Upon returning to the apartment, I always ask Stacia for the latest news from the outside. And when the goats were let out of the barn, I needed every detail (every detail) from Stacia so I could feel like I was there. Even when we went to check on the doe and doeling integration, I was reluctant to leave because I feared unseen aggressive behavior. I don't want to miss a thing. And there it is-the Aerosmith reference without even trying. Yes, it's true. I'm falling in love with this lifestyle.
It was so great to see the wonderful valley people for a day and I look forward to seeing more of them. At the same time, however,Stacia fed my soul during dinner with missed events from New Hampshire. I'm lucky to have both worlds. Even luckier to feel like one is home.
I didn't take pictures today, but I did want to clarify an important point. Stacia previous put a caption with a goat that indicated it was Terry, my favorite. However, this was an incorrect identification. Stacia was photographed with a very lovable doeling, Emily.
Will the real goat Terry, please stand up? Please stand up? (Eminem reference, anybody? We might need to find some live music tonight...)
The beautiful, quiet leader, Terry can be seen below.
Love, love, love,
Kenz
